Enbridge reconsiders rejection of city plan

AN ENBRIDGE official says the company is reconsidering its original rejection of a city plan to stage a public forum over its Northern Gateway pipeline project.

“We are considering it,” said Jennifer Varey in an email responding to questions from The Terrace Standard.

She said mayor Dave Pernarowski has contacted the company about the issue.

“I would note though that the Joint Review Panel hearing process will provide interested parties the opportunity to contribute to the discussion on the proposed Northern Gateway Pipeline project and to provide their positions under oath,” she continued, saying that the panel has the capacity to review all input on this project and offers an effective forum for public involvement.

She also said Enbridge was pleased to be able to answer questions from the public at its recent meetings in Terrace, Kitimat and Burns Lake.
