About Friends of Wild Salmon

The Friends of Wild Salmon is a group of residents of British Columbia’s North Coast and Skeena watershed who have come together to work towards a common goal: the protection of wild salmon.

We originally came together to prevent the threat of fish farms near the mouth of the Skeena.

Following the success of our fish farm campaign, we redirected our efforts toward protecting the headwaters of the Skeena from coalbed methane drilling, stopping the Enbridge Northern Gateway oil pipeline and tankers proposal, and protecting the Skeena Estuary from the threat of Petronas' Pacific Northwest LNG project.

We are now monitoring proposed industrial developments in the Skeena Watershed and North Coast including LNG and mining proposals and supporting estuary planning for the Skeena River.
