Enbridge withdraws request to extend environmental certificate for Westcoast Connector pipeline
An initial extension was already granted to the project in 2019, pushing the deadline to hit a substantial start designation to November of 2024. In January 2023, a second extension request was filed. Enbridge has now withdrawn that request. The proposed pipeline would transport gas fracked in northeastern BC, through Gitxsan territories and to an LNG terminal on the coast. Read the full article here.
