Which candidates will protect our wild salmon? You decide.

The 2011 BC Municipal Election is coming up in only two days. Residents will head the polls this Saturday to elect their mayors and councils.

Friends of Wild Salmon and the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition recently conducted a survey of candidates running in Skeena Watershed communities. We asked them questions related to wild salmon conservation and economic development.

The questions were:

  • What do you perceive as the single greatest human-caused threat to Skeena wild salmon?
  • If elected, what will you do to ensure sustainability of our Skeena wild salmon?
  • Do you support or oppose the Enbridge pipeline?
  • What do you think is the single greatest opportunity for non-industrialized community economic development?
  • Do you support protection of the Sacred Headwaters?
